Introduction

2021 Registration Update

Thank you for your interest and patience. We know many of you are excited to get your players outdoors and start playing ball! Due to anticipated restrictions, in place of a typical season this summer, we are offering skills development sessions. The number of players per group will be limited based on Covid-19 restrictions and the number of groups will be based on the number parents who volunteer as coaches.

We are asking all those interested to fill in a short form to confirm their participation in this type of season no later than June 11th.

Learn to Play, Trimite and U8: Players in this age group will develop their skills with the help of their coaches.  Each player will be allowed to have one dedicated person from their household on the field to help them (16 years old or older). They will work on fundamentals such as fielding, throwing and batting with their buddy and/or coaches through fun activities provided by Ayr Minor Softball. Your player will be assigned a time on either Monday or Wednesday to participate.

U10, U12, U14, U16, U19, U23: Players in this age group will develop their skills in small groups based on age and focus of play guided by a volunteer coach. You are welcome to select an area of focus, pitching (beginner), pitching (intermediate/advanced), catching (beginner), catching (intermediate/advanced) and general.  All groups will work on fundamentals such as fielding, throwing and batting, but the pitching and catching groups will have more opportunity to develop these specific skills. Players will be assigned a time on either Tuesday or Thursday to participate.

To provide a safe season to our participants and spectators, we plan to follow the Softball Ontario return to play guidelines as well as the following.

  • Socially distant player benches and spectators.
  • All players, coaches, umpires and spectators will be required to wear masks and sanitize hands frequently.
  • Shared equipment will be sanitized between groups.
  • All players, coaches, umpires and spectators will require screening.
  • Numbers will be capped based on public health guidelines.

Payments will accepted by eTransfer.  Cost will be $50 to cover basic expenses. Due to the limited numbers permitted, spots will be offered first come, first serve based on filling out the form linked below.
