11U Rep go 3-1 at OASA Qualifier
The 11U Rep team had a successful OASA Qualifier in Tara this past weekend compiling a 3-1 record earning their spot at the OASA Provincial Finals in Bracebridge August 15th-17th.
The team started Friday afternoon against their closest Rival and First Place team PDP Lightning. It was a tight back and forth game but in the end Ayr took a 1 run lead to the 7th inning and with great pitching and clutch defence held on for a Jr Vic’s 6-5 win. This avenged a 28-4 loss to the same PDP team earlier in the season.
Game 2 didn’t go our way , despite a great pitching performance Ayr dropped a 9-4 decision to a good Wilmot Major Team who in reverse fashion avenged a 14-11 loss to Ayr 5 days earlier.
The Final 2 games were near perfect games for Ayr with great pitching, fielding and clutch hitting, Ayr beat Elmira-King 18-3 and Wilmot Minor 14-4. The 3-1 record have earned them their spot in the OASA provincial championships.
