General Information
Our Learn to Play program focuses on teaching the basic softball skills to young players in a fun environment.

Eachweek players participate in drills for the first 30 minutes and then play T-ball for the remaining 30 minutes. The last 4 weeks of the season will be full T-ball games.

Teams will be limited to 8-10 players to minimize idle time for the young players.  We are aiming for a 2:1 ratio of kids to adults in order to keep the players busy so they do not lose interest.  This can be achieved by the parents being actively involved with their child’s softball experience.  Teams will require 2 coaches and either a minimum of 2 dedicated parent helpers or a scheduled helper rotation amongst all the parents.  Grandparents or older siblings are more than welcome to get involved too.

Learn to Play plays on Thursdays from May 12th to July 28th at Victoria Park in Ayr.  This year we are offering the option of a 5:30 or a 6:00 start time.  If there are not enough players able to play at 5:30, all teams will play at 6:00.  Meet the Coach night is May 5th.

Subscribe to the team calendar at ayrjrvics.com to have all dates and times shown in your personal calendar. There is an option to include a reminder with the calendar entries.

Equipment Requirements: running shoes, batting helmet with NO cage, glove.  Helmets without cages are required to be worn when batting or during batting drills.  Team shirts and hats will be provided.
